A local BBC Music Introducing DJ will also be embedded into each of the eight teams. Each DJ will curate a unique soundtrack that is reflective of their city and the people, players and artists within it. The music on offer at each match is designed to bring fans right into the action and will all be live. From walk out music, to match reaction sounds, the venue DJs are in full control of the sound of their team.
Check out the DJs for 2023 below!
Birmingham Phoenix - 2NV
2NV has recorded over 1,000,000 streams worldwide, but this summer it’s all about The Hundred as he returns to Edgbaston for a second year with Birmingham Phoenix.
London Spirit - Jess Iszatt
Jess Iszatt supports the best new music from London every Saturday night on BBC Radio London, so of course she is one of the original DJs of The Hundred that is returning for 2023, once again providing the soundtrack for Lord’s.
Manchester Originals - DJ Roesh
One of the original DJs for The Hundred, Roesh went back-to-back with Charlie Burlie at Lord’s last year as Manchester Originals made the final. There will be hopes of returning in 2023, but it’s certain that he’ll be bringing the tunes to Emirates Old Trafford.
Northern Superchargers - Emily Pilbeam
There promises to be an electric atmosphere when The Hundred returns to Headingley in 2023, and Emily Pilbeam will amp it up in her third year of being Northern Superchargers’ resident DJ.
Oval Invincibles - Abbie McCarthy
After playing at Lord’s as Oval Invincibles’ women lifted The Hundred trophy last year, Abbie McCarthy, who has also worked for the Lionesses, is back for a third time to bring the tunes to The Kia Oval.
Southern Brave - Char Stape
A resident DJ at Wembley Stadium, Char Stape will be bringing the music to Utilita Bowl for the first time this summer. She has performed for England, the Lionesses and Harlequins, as well as being a presenter on Reprezent Radio.
Trent Rockets - Charlie Burley
While Trent Rockets’ team brought the quality in 2022 with their men lifting The Hundred trophy, Charlie Burley provided the music for fans to enjoy along the way. It remains to be seen whether they can replicate their heroics on the pitch, but we do know that Charlie is back for his third year.
Welsh Fire - Danni Diston and Sam MacGregor
Why have one member of the BBC Radio 1 team when you can have two? The duo will be providing the soundtrack for matches at Sophia Gardens for the first time this summer.
